Designed and built in the 1960s, this 10-storey, stone-clad building at Highbury College of Further Education was in urgent need of a makeover. R F Webb was called in to mastermind a complete redesign.
The exterior of the building was reclad and its usage changed, transforming it into five storeys of student accommodation on the uppers floors and five storeys of teaching facilities below. Special features included an additional plant room constructed on the roof, specialist broadcasting and arts facilities and two recording studios. The work was carried out on behalf of M & E Services.
